Please allow me to introduce myself; my name is Kathie Knudsen.  I have always had a love of learning!  I began tutoring students when I was in the fourth grade and even from that young age, I always knew I wanted to become a teacher.  I attended MJC and Stanislaus State University part-time to pursue my career goals while spending the majority of my time with my family.  I am very blessed to have a wonderful husband and two incredible kids. In 2005, I earned my degree in Liberal Studies with honors.

I was thrilled to find Keyes Charter School when my daughter was in the second grade.  I home-schooled both of my children before first becoming a teacher’s assistant and I now teach junior high-school at School in the Valley.  I love teaching at Keyes Charter School; I look forward to seeing my students every day!  It is amazing to see their special personalities and incredible abilities grow and progress.  I am thankful that I can be a small part of it.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, friends and two dogs.  I like playing the piano, listening to music, playing games and you will rarely find anyone in my family watching T.V.  As often as possible we enjoy traveling and we particularly enjoy going to the beach.
