K. Hatch—Global Foods

12/4/06—Map of Country  Students will pick a country to study and create a political and topographical map of the country.  This map will include cities, rivers, lakes, deserts, mountains, oceans and other countries that border it.  The map will be colorful and will have a key.

12/11/06—Report on Your Country  Students will do research about their country finding out information to fill in a 5 paragraph scaffold.  Essay should include info about the location, culture, food, cooking style, drinks and cultural events of the region.

12/18/06—Finding Recipes & Preparing  Students will find a recipe from each category listed: Appetizer; Soup/Salad/Side dish; Main Dish; Dessert.  They will then pick 3 and prepare.  As they prepare, they will complete a review sheet of the recipe and the cooking process, including how the food tastes.
