R. N. Monroe (Instructor) Lesson Plan Spanish I 1. Objective: The students will be able to translate individual “er” and “ir” verbs from the English to Spanish in both infinitive and conjugated forms. The students will be able to also translate phrases using these verbs in context as well as be able to answer questions using these verbs. The students will be able to pronounce and comprehend the events in a short story. The students will be able to understand and answer questions from and about the video series “Destinos” 2. Materials: Overhead projector, transparencies, readers and gestures from the teacher. 3. Procedures: The teacher will pronounce the individual “er” and “ir” verbs and phrases with the students repeating them individually and collectively. After some drills with the students at their desks, the students will then practice with one another with the same phrases and sentences standing opposite one another for a period of about two minutes with one partner then proceed to the next partner and repeat some of the same material, as well as progress to the next segment on the overhead transparency. The teacher will monitor from a seated position and correct pronunciation during the drill, or walk in the back of the students on listening for pronunciation and accuracy in the answering of the question. A guided practice will be implemented by teacher asking students to be seated again and then proceed to ask individual students to translate and answer questions using the material that had been practiced. 4. Evaluation Both oral quizzes and written tests will be used to check for comprehension. After assignments are handed in, questions are asked of individual students to check on their ability to grasp new material before tests or quizzes are administered. |
