Educational Programs
Keyes to Learning Charter School’s educational program blends the best of home and classroom instruction.
Our families enjoy the flexible schedule that homeschooling provides while also participating in group activities of their choice. Weekly classes supplement the wonderful classically-based curriculum which was created and field tested by our own staff.
In 1995 Keyes to Learning opened as a charter school which served K-6 homeschooling families. Twelve years later it has developed into a WASC accredited K-12 school that not only serves those families but now offers a highly-organized and content-rich curriculum developed by our own experienced and highly-qualified staff. In addition, weekly classes are held to supplement what the students are learning at home.
Families may still choose to teach exclusively at home and meet on a regular basis with a credentialed Master Teacher. The KTL teaching staff offers support and advice to parents of kindergarten through twelfth grade students. Parents may also select from a list of vendors offering gymnastics, dance, art and music. Field trips are a regular occurrence as are visits to local theater art productions.
Each year families look forward to a fall literary event, a holiday art workshop, a winter art gala and the spring open house/science fair. Students love to participate in the library’s Accelerated Reading program and semester reward trips.
